Margarites
The village of Margarites is one of the largest centers for ceramics in Greece. Old and new techniques coexist harmoniously in the 20 ceramics workshops and display areas in the village which make both traditional and modern ceramics. Visitors to the village can admire the traditional architecture, the old churches, the monastery of Christ the Savior, the Late Minoan vaulted tomb which dates from 1350 BC. and the E4 pathway which leads to ancient Eleftherna. You can sample the local cuisine in the village tavernas and spend the night in one of the rooms or apartments for rent.
